Just a few weeks ago we shared the evolution of PixelSquid, which included immediate changes to the site, launch of our new plugin and the planned changes to Squid.io. Those changes are now live and outlined below.
Library Updates
- SquidGuild and SquidLevel Bronze and above now have access to all V-Ray materials. These materials can also be used with your TurboSquid and PixelSquid submissions. We’ve also added quick categories to make finding the materials you need easier and faster.
- In addition to making the V-Ray materials accessible to all SquidGuild Bronze and above, the HDRI library has been added to Squid.io. There are a total of 12 HDRIs that are available for download and use in your TurboSquid scenes.
- We have removed 3D models from the library. These were infrequently downloaded. As they are not supported for use within PixelSquid or TurboSquid submissions, it made sense to remove these entirely.
PixelSquid Submission Update
- Shot product types for PixelSquid were been removed as part of our last announcement. There is now no requirement to setup individual camera frames. Instead, all you need to do is to switch on the spinner camera. The tools are being updated and will soon be released to reflect this change.
Squidio Navigation
- The “Resources” menu on Squid.io has been expanded to include Tools, V-Ray Materials and HDRIs.
