How long have you been an artist?

I became interested in art at school, more than ten years ago and I’ve spent the last five years working in the gaming industry… so, everything has been leading me in this direction. But I really considered myself a full-fledged artist the moment I uploaded my first model to Turbosquid three years ago.

How did you get your start as a 3D modeler?

You know, I started [modeling] completely unexpectedly. It all started when I found a CD with a demo version of a 3D program— which turned out to be Cinema 4d— in a friend’s collection of video games.

What do you think is your biggest priority when making 3D models?

It might sound banal, but for me, the main priority always been— and always will be— the quality of  the models at every stage of development.

What are some of the challenges of modeling good animals? How do you overcome those challenges?

Аnatomy is the most important thing when you’re creating animals; if the anatomy is wrong, or the silhouette is broken, any qualitative sculpting or realistic textures won’t save the model. Proper anatomy is a powerful foundation for the whole model, and if it all connects with realistic textures and sculpting, then the model will come out very cool.

So, before I start working, I always search for references and look at the animals in the zoo. I am really trying to figure out if I can make skin sliding over muscles without using any plug-ins. When I figure that out, I think it will bring my models to a new level of quality.

What has been your experience with CheckMate?

I’m new to CheckMate, but in the near future, I plan to increase the number of ChekMate models [in my catalog], because it is a really great opportunity to meet the standards and needs of customers.

How long have you been with TurboSquid? Would you or have you recommended TurboSquid to others?

As I said before, I’ve been with Turbosquid exactly 3 years… November 9 was my anniversary 🙂 Turbosquid is an excellent opportunity for artists to earn and for customers to save time and get great models. That’s why I’ve repeatedly recommended this site to my colleagues, and I will continue to keep recommending it.

Finally, I want to wish you all good luck, success, and continuous growth. Yours faithfully, Missset.

Happy anniversary and a T-rex sized thank you, Missset!
